Your Voice is Needed in Sacramento

Monday, May 18 | 7:00am - 6pm | Carpool leaving from Hayward

Join us for an incredible day of advocacy in Sacramento with our partners at EdTrust-West. This is a critical moment - decisions being made right now at the local, state, and federal level will directly impact our children and communities. Come walk the halls of the Capitol, meet with elected officials, attend a campaign rally, and stand up for the young people we love. Check out this Instagram story to see how the last advocacy day looked.

Monday, May 18 Carpooling from HUSD HUB | Meals and gas provided

Russell City Guest Visit & Family Night Preview

This month, our TVM scholars will be joined by guests Mr. James Knowles and his daughter Aisha Knowles, ACOE Board Member representing Hayward Ashland. Mr. Knowles is a lifelong Hayward resident who was born and raised in Russell City before his family, like so many others, was displaced in the early 1960s. Mr. Knowles went on to serve over 40 years with the Alameda County Probation Department, currently sits on the Alameda County Reparations Commission, and has spent his life mentoring young people through sports and public service. His memories of Russell City are living history - and on May 26, he will bring that history to Family Night. We hope you will be there to experience it with your scholars.

Parent Learning Pods - We Are Looking for You

TVM was founded by two parents & lots of volunteers who believed in the power of community and knew that nobody was coming to save our children but us. We are developing parent learning pods - small, structured spaces where parents learn alongside and in support of our scholars. We are looking for parents who can commit to one to two afternoons per week afterschool and are ready to learn, teach, and grow alongside our community. If that sounds like you, we want to talk. Sign up on the family night RSVP (see link above) to say I'm interested, or reply to this email.
